About Touching Ground

Each week Touching Ground offers a rich field to experience meditation as an instinctive and embodied experience without having to silence thought or be still.

Guided practice approaches meditation not as a series of techniques, but as a natural part of being human.

Rather than adhere to a singular method, we orient our compass in practice to a sense of ease, continuity, and coherence, as a baseline in experience—however unlikely that may seem!

Meditative improvisations help us to discover the positive qualities of experience as already present moving realities of who and what we are—and to feel them in the body (not just as an idea!).

Through somatic awareness (learning to deeply sense our body from the inside out), simple sounding techniques, poetic contemplations, and deepening layers of breath, we will explore:

  • Gestures of awareness—subtle energetic and physical movements that invite physical ease.

  • Touchstones of presence—simple ways to anchor and ground.

  • The workable mind—how thought, emotion, and sensation can fuel equanimity and insight

  • Portals of perception—ways of seeing beyond habitual thought.

  • The undercurrent of presence—a deep sense of at-homeness in the world.
