About Touching Ground

Touching Ground is a weekly guided somatic meditation to support the cultivation of ease, relaxation, and peace (known classically in Sanskrit as shamatha, or ‘calm-abiding’).

We explore meditation as a natural part of our experience–not as a singular technique, not as forcing stillness, not as silencing thought. 

Each week of the month, we employ a different doorway to locate the capacity for rest and ground as enduring aspects of who and what we are.  

  • Week 1: A modern take on traditional settling and grounding practices using sound and breath.

  • Week 2: Practice rooted in the sensory experience of our anatomy, informed by modern somatics and continuum. 

  • Week 3: Instinctive meditation based on the Radiance Sutras (Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra).

  • Week 4: Practice based on inspired/ecstatic meditation verses.
