In this workshop we learn simple and effective ways to reconnect with our bodies and minds, to come home to ourselves. We play with methods that help us discover meditative, peaceful, parasympathetic nervous system states of being, spontaneously. Whether an experienced meditator or just starting out and curious about meditation and mind-body well-being, this workshop is an excellent introduction to contemplative practice, stress reduction, pain management, and working with the body—without pressure, judgement, or shame.
Guided meditation instruction helps facilitate a personal discovery of the joy and pleasure possible in learning to listen and relate to what the body needs.
We learn to experience peace and subtle pleasure as embodied and spontaneous qualities already present within us (as unlikely as that may seem!).
With the compass of ‘practice’ directed toward enjoyment and play (rather than discipline, tedious practice, and rigid technique) we quickly discover how natural the experience of harmony and general well-being is, and how to maintain it.
We invite our day-to-day mind — with all of its hopes and fears — to experience its fundamental creative power, clarity, and capacity for knowing.
We learn to experience and employ the flexibility and workability of our minds through the innate intelligence of the body.—Without the pressure to silence thought, be still, or assume a particular posture.
We invite the mind to relate to worlds of sensation, perception and knowing beyond the ordinary and day-to-day, so that the ordinary and the day-to-day become more spacious, and perhaps start to open to new creative possibilities, more clarity—even wisdom and insight.
Participants receive: a thorough introduction to the theory and practice of sound as a tool for somatic and meditative practice and to maintain nervous system health and well-being.
The transmission of a short four-line meditation verse, The Invitation of Worlds, along with an inspired commentary that makes the practice easy to integrate into day-to-day life.
Guided instruction in Tibetan primordial sound practice that can quickly bring ease and balance into our mind and bodies.
Guided instruction in developing the ability to sense, perceive, and relate to subtle energy movement in the physical body as a support for health, pain management, and to eliminate stress.
This workshop fulfills the prerequisite for future “Invitation of Worlds” series classes without having to complete one-on-one sessions.
